🌟 The Del Ray Farmers Market began its journey in September 1994. Over the past 29 years, we’ve seen significant growth and transformation. From humble beginnings with a few local vendors, the market has evolved into a vibrant hub that supports numerous farmers and businesses in the community.

Every Saturday, the market comes alive with the colorful array of fresh produce and tasty treats, creating a bustling atmosphere that reflects the spirit of Del Ray. This market serves as a cherished gathering place where neighbors can come together to support local artisans, savor delicious foods, and foster a strong sense of community pride.

Initially focused on organic produce, the market evolved into a farmers-only market known for its fresh offerings. Over time, it blossomed to welcome a colorful array of contributors, including local farmers, skillful gardeners, community-driven nonprofits, and even the occasional sighting of friendly politicians.

The market quickly grew in popularity, leading to the need for an additional lot to cater to the surging number of visitors. Before and after COVID, we were fortunate to be able to expand our vendor layout to The North Market which offered many items of prepared foods and artisanal goods, while at the South Market you’d find fresh produce sourced directly from local farmers. In the fall of 2024, our Market layout of vendors changed once again and now encompasses the South Market and Oxford Street, which closes to traffic during Market hours.

 And then it becomes a legend . . .

We will be celebrating the Market’s 30th Anniversary this year. As we reflect on the past 29 incredible years and reminisce about how our beloved Market first came to be, we can't help but feel incredibly proud of the journey we've taken.
